Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Information
FMLA is designed to help employees balance their work and family responsibilities by allowing them to take reasonable unpaid leave for certain family and medical reasons.

Sick Leave Bank
NPS maintains a sick leave bank to be used by eligible employees VRS 1, 2, and Hybrid Year 1 employees (entitled to sick leave benefits) who are incapacitated by short-term personal illness or injury. To enroll in the sick leave bank, an employee must donate one day of sick leave earned during the current school year. Only full-time employees are eligible.

Benefit begins after a member is without leave for 30 consecutive calendar days or 20 duty days in a 35 calendar day period
A maximum of 45 days each school year may be drawn by any one member of the Sick Leave Bank.
